Concept
YYA was commissioned to design new CIP, VIP, and VVIP complex building at Maldives International Airport. It is a response to increasing demand for accommodating more visitors every year. The MACL is also undertaking the construction of new runway and terminals to satisfy more flights to the country. The airport is a key infrastructure that supports the Maldives multi-billion dollar tourism industry. Expansion of the airport is expected to boost tourist arrivals to the island nation as it aims to attract at least two million tourists by 2020.
