Island Resort Concept
YYA was invited to submit competition entries for island resorts. The main island and common program areas of the resort took plan cues from the repeating geometry that make up tradition mathematical processes of fractional geometry. The patterns combined with the sweeping island and reef forms to derive an organic silhouette of layered canopies. The central nucleus creates a focal point for arrivals and an intuitive gathering point that radiates the supporting program structures around the island and out onto the reefs. The concrete fins holding the canopies are textured with a nod to the intricate stone carvings of the traditional decoration. |
